Blossom Flower Dangle Necklace

The Blossom Flower Dangle Necklace is a delightfully delicate necklace featuring the tiniest of blossom flowers dancing on a delicate but durable chain.

A perfectly simple necklace for an understated look the necklace can be worn alone or with other necklaces for an effortless layered look.

Inspired by that wonderful few weeks in spring when the trees are bursting with tissue paper like flowers the blossom collection is a wearable reminder of the riot of flowery colour and pure joy it brings.

How is it made?

The blossom flower motif is used across many pieces in my collections, I love how tiny and delicate the five petalled flowers look.

The first flowers were CAD modelled, a process I really enjoy as it allows me to create very small, delicate designs that aren't achievable by hand.

Once happy with the flowers they were attached to a sprue which feeds precious metal into the design during the lost wax casting process. The sprue with the multiple flowers attached to it is moulded so many multiples of the flowers can be cast in precious metal.

Each flower is then de-sprued, cleaned up and attached individually to a delicate (but strong!) trace chain, this isn't a job for the unsteady of hand!

The necklace is given a polish in the magnetic pin polisher to give it a high-shine finish.

Our chain is manufactured by our supplier based in Shropshire, UK and solid gold pieces are hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay office.

All of our jewellery is made by Rachel in her workshop in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter in the United Kingdom.

I take a lot of my inspiration from the British summer time so it's important that my jewellery be made here.

I'm so lucky to be surrounded by so many talented casting companies, stone setters, hand engravers and gold platers in Birmingham and I think it's vital that we support them and keep their disciplines alive and available for generations of designers to come.

When you buy a piece of Rachel Whitehead Jewellery you're helping keep the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter the vibrant and vital centre of manufacture that it has been and should remain for years to come.
